I am giving my FACTUAL personal experience of Sallipets as I'm being accused of putting dodgy ones up and I don't need to hide behind profiles so here is mine!..I briefly volunteered for Sallipets around 4 years ago after being bombarded by messages from Ro (all I did was comment on their group at the time) I knew no one affiliated with Sallipets or anyone who had already volunteered and just went along off my own back, I was asked what my strengths were (gardening)and was put to work in the outside yard which was a war zone, there were large dog bones lying around, rubble ,a pond which had been covered with a metal grid, that same day a lorry of dogs from Spain arrived, I was given a bag of treats, herded into the living room and the dogs were released in there, hungry, anxious, thirsty, pooing and weeing everywhere, it was utter chaos, the dogs were fighting over the bones and the smell was unreal, these poor dogs needed time to decompress but were simply let out to get on with it amongst the poo ,wee, rubble and bones aswell as the other resident dogs, the moment I arrived Ro was very gushy and literally told me her life story and how she was being accused of stealing donations etc,I felt sorry for her initially but her behaviour became very erratic and odd and she made me feel uncomfortable, the red flags were everywhere straight away, she started telling me stories of other volunteers turning on her ,of being spied on, drugs being sold on her premises, all sorts of weird and wacky stories! I really had no interest in these stories, id only just met her!, I was just there for the dogs, it was all very bizarre, my stomach was lurching and my heart felt heavy with the state of the place and the sheer neglect, the dogs were constantly (and still are) escaping onto the busy A22, 27 dogs..27 dogs cant be walked on the A22,that day I left with mixed feelings, a sense of that i'd been used as free labour, a sad image burned into my head of the state of the place and the lack of nurture yet glad I had seen it myself and had at least tried to make a difference but its not a higher fence and a bit of gardening these dogs need, its putting somewhere else! I made my excuses after that, politely, Ro started messaging me with more weird and wacky stories and I humoured her politely again and tried to ignore her until I called her out on a social media post blatantly lying, that's when the threatening messages started and I had to block her, 4 years later after seeing lots of local media posts about Sallipets and commenting, I was invited into a group trying to get Sallipets shut down and discovered many others with similar experiences and I wasnt alone, Id been thinking about that place for years but didnt know others were out there too,I have since been asked to help admin 'Is Sallipets A Rogue Rescue?' group as the group now had over 500 members and it was too much for the creator, who had all discovered each other, i was happy to assist even though I have a very busy life, Sallipets doesn't like whistle-blowers and will hassle you, your family and your place of work, they will try to destroy your business (if you have one) There are many victims of Ro and Sallipets, dogs and humans alike and in fact the owner of Sallipets (Ro) has just been successfully prosecuted under the dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and is awaiting sentencing on Friday 1st September (its in the public domain now as she,s been found guilty)We are hoping for a ban on keeping dogs. £350 adoption fees (£50 of this goes to another member of staff) Evidence of breeding from rescue dogs, NO HOMECHECKS?! NOT A CHARITY, REGISTERED AS A BUSINESS, NO PL INSURANCE.In short, STAY CLEAR!!!

I was only vaguely thinking of another dog as i had not long lost my dog of 16 years. I met the owner of Sallipets first and loved her manner, so very warm and approachable. Sallipets is a rescue i have never known before. There were no dogs in kennels, it was a HOME for dogs. These dogs were all just happy! Lots of waggy tails! I was introduced to Isla and its safe to say, was Love at first sight. I spent a few hours with the owner and Isla and i knew she would be mine. I learnt about Isla's history. I have been to rescue's before but they were very different to this one. There was no aggression because you could see they were happy and relaxed compared to the anxious dogs previously seen in kennels. I decided to take Isla for a weekend to see how she would react with us as a family and importantly my 3 cats. Isla fitted in beautifully and became a member of our family. Its so lovely to know also that Sallipets will take adopted dogs back for holidays too. That is a big weight off a dog owners mind. Thank you Sallipets!

SalliPets Rescue rehomes for free. They are a very small rescue doing big things. They also look after the dogs, free of charge, when adopter goes on holiday. They provide a complete history of the dog, they are honest and so helpful. They are excellent.
I can highly recommend them and they care about the dog from adoption to a change in circumstances. They truly care.

Sallipets Rescue

SalliPets rehomes dogs that have been abandoned. Their objective is to be unique in their mission to help these dogs. They rescue them, and they then work with children that have emotional difficulties, are afraid of dogs or they need a four legged friend to confide in. Their work in this area is called Pet-A-Pet and is a trademarked name. Their dogs may work with the children for weeks, months or years and when the work is done they rehome the dogs.
