What turned out as just a visit, ended up as my partner, her 9 year old son & myself adopting & rehoming a border collie. The reception staff are very clued up from beginning the process of adoption/rehoming through to the final end. We chose a border collie pitch puppy(brought over from Ireland). We were very quickly house vetted,in-between 2 hour visits to bond with the border collie pup. The home check was organised at a time to suit the family, which we duly passed. A date was given to our family when we were able to bring 'Bubbles' home. Again, the staff were able to sort out another date for re-homing if the date they have us wasn't available. We were given food, information packs, date to take 'bubbles' back for neutering & a week supply of anti-biotics for kennel cough..Everything from the initial visit to taking 'Bubbles' to het final forever home took 3 weeks. All the staff from volunteers to full-timers were brilliant, helpful & very knowledgeable.Even neutering to final settling in follow-ups have been done swiftly, courteously & efficiently. I would recommend anyone to go visit Dogs Trust, Sadberge, Darlington. Adoption: 2011

Our first experience of visiting a shelter/rescue dogs home. We had recently lost one of our dogs and were looking for a pal for the one left. All staff were super and obviously loved their dogs and jobs. Any help needed was available although we didn't feel we needed any as our new dog settled quite quickly and is now part of the furniture. I think the dogs trust have an extremely efficient way of running things and we now try to do as much as possible to help with donations etc. We have taken our dog back to visit and he is remembered which is great so Dogs Trust highly recommended. Adoption: 2011
