... and after Dougal came Mindy - 26kg of ex-puppy farm breeding bitch in need of care, kindness and a lost puppyhood. She was a sorry looking soul when she arrived in rescue heavily pregnant. Thanks to the Trust and its volunteers she became mother to 13 rollicking pups who all survived and thrived before moving on to foster and adoption. Mindy was, and still is, very special. to us and to the scores of people who followed her progress. The Doodle Trust could hardly have done more for us and when we were selected to adopt shared in our joy and excitement. Above all else it is that camaraderie and sense of community which makes the Doodle Trust stand out as a dog rescue charity. Ask a question and advice flows freely. Need help and someone will be in touch. A fabulous bunch of single-minded people who genuinely care. I'm glad we found one another.

We were matched to the most adorable Labbradoodle. We felt confident that the help and understanding of all the people involved with rehousing were thorough and knowledgable about the Labradoodle they were dealing with. We were thoroughly vetted and home checked so felt confident that the doodle trust were a very professional organisation. I would recommend anyone to use them if they wished to give a good home to a rescued dog they have.

Just an update to my earlier review.
Last summer, seven months after losing Rolo, we thought to volunteer as fosterers for the Doodle Trust and took on Dougal - a two-year-old 40kg lumpadoodle. as gentle and loving a dog as we have ever known ... until his lead comes off at the park when it's mayhem.
Alas we failed as fosterers and Dougal is now a part of our family.
We got our happy ending after all :-)

On December 1, 2013 we adopted Rolo from the Doodle Trust. Or rather he adopted us, jumping straight into the car when we drew up, bounding over my wife and sitting on my lap, filling my face with kisses. Did I mention he was a large, white standard poodle? We became his family in an instant. He had some bad habits, as might be expected from a 4-year-old rescue who'd had three names. Over the next few weeks and months the three of us worked hard to sort out his bad manners. He was smart and a quick learner and we loved him dearly. Life was never dull, like the time he grabbed mouse bait, refused to let go and swallowed the lot. He didn't enjoy the antidote injections. And the impact he had was indescribable. My wife spent three hours in theatre having her ankle put back together and eight weeks in a cast when he crashed into her while playing with other dogs at the park. I am sorry to say though, there is no happy ending. In mid-November, he developed what we, and the vet, thought was kennel cough. After four weeks with no improvement, a biopsy was carried out and four days later the result came back positive for lymphoma. Rolo was put to sleep the same day. So why nominate the Doodle Trust? Well it's a volunteer charity whose members rallied round with help, advice and suggestions when Rolo fell ill. Barb Turnbull, who runs it, even contacted our vet to see if she could help and since we lost our beloved pup on 15th December 2014, the Trust and supporters have rallied round to help us through our grief. There can be no more deserving charity, not just for the compassion and support they show dogs, but for the unstinting kindness they show towards humans. They are small group with a huge heart. When we are ready, we will adopt again and I will look to the Doodle Trust. Darn ... I must have got some dust in my eyes ...

It is obvious that this organisation takes great care of the dogs they have in foster homes and it seems that dogs are matched really well to the families they go to. Adoption: 2011

The labradoodle trust is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, rescue dogs are cared for in foster homes and fully assessed for temperament and treated for medical needs. All dogs are neutered before going onto their new forever homes. The volunteers are very knowledgable and are they to offer advices and assistance from initial home check through to adoption and into the dogs future. Issues are dealt with quickly and dog will only be placed in the very best of homes following rigorous assessments. Fees reflect the care and treatment of each dog individually. The trust volunteers fundraise and hold regular events to raise money and knowledge of this very special and very often missold breed. Adoption:2008

A terrific national rescue for all sorts of Doodles (previously known as the Labradoodle Trust) run by those who understand the needs of these fantastic dogs.
